    Default Box fan

Hi peeps can a box fan degrade over time. Reason I ask is because the ducting on the outtake used to be hardish but now it's not just wondering.

If you're talking about those fans that people buy to blow air on themselves, then yeah they slow down every year.

Yeah those little squirrel cage fans, they usually have ratings on them whether they're continuous duty or intermittent duty. I would think continuous duty would definitely slow down over time. Then if it was intermittent duty it would just start up very very slow when I was wearing out.

If you're not having any problems with smells then you could decrease the filter size I suppose, probably would end up replacing filters more often even if they did work for you.

This is the filter at minute. It says 2 year life span don't know how true it is. But its big probably too big for my space so need smaller one but I want to keep my box fan. I have the fan connected to eco tech controller.

If the new filter you want to buy is rated about the same as your fan then it should be an easy changeover. You wouldn't want a filter that was significantly lower rating than your fan I would think.
