Ok great am growing in coco 60/40. So just get more clay pebbles like that you mean?

Exactly, be sure to wash them until you don't get any red dusty water running out of them. The great thing about the pellets is you can reuse them over and over again. It's the drying out quickly that doesn't allow the thrips or the root aphids to crawl down and get into your medium. Most coco growers don't have a significant problem with root dwelling insects because coco tends to dry out quickly on top. But even with coco I still run the pebbles because sometimes the plant shades things out and you water heavy and often and before you know it it's wet enough for them to get down in there.

You'd get away with just literally dipping the things in a cold water bath with a bit of bicarbonate soda for a pm prevention at the same time
