Room size and hps size

How high should i put my hps when i flip my plants to avoid bleaching them.
Light now in veg 450w cfl
When flowering 600w hps
Or i do have a 800w cob led light ? Attachment 388997

With hps, the tops will burn, not bleach. ime, the heat damaged areas are more susceptible to mould.

Hold your hand under the hps at canopy height for 30 seconds. If your hand feels no discomfort from the heat, it's ok for the plants.

Good comparison is the HLG550. This will do good light wall to wall in 4x4 and thats 30w per square foot at 1700BTUs

How far away have you put your cob ?

Mine is 405W, I use it around 20" Veg, and After full stretch now have it at 14 1/2", which is around 800 PAR center. This will be for the rest of Flower.

I would think so, I have mine in A 4'x4'x6.5'

Hi all so ive turned my plants today 12/12.
600w my hps is 3ft away from plants I'll lower has day's go by don't want any burns or stress.
Question is would you say my fans are placed correctly one is blowing under the 600 hps and the other one is blowing just over the plant tops .
Running exhaust to get rid of excess heat temp about 80ish .

Have you got any air movement below the canopy? You don't want stale air sitting around the bottom of you plants.

There is passive air movement at pot level plus i can see leaf moment in the middle of the plants from fans so air is blowing all around room. I was just concerned about any light burn ?
