Default Limiting lateral growth with a seed sog?

I'm wondering what is involved in having each seed plant stay within its own area of 10 inches square. It's a small space, just over 30 inches square, and having 9 single cola plants that don't touch each other would be the aim.

Can they be trimmed so as to only have a single cola?

Snap or cut. As long as they don't invade their neighbours airspace.

I was reading up on various grow styles and came across 12/12 sog. The theory being that the best part of the plant is the main cola so why not just have that? Plenty of debate on how to manage that.

One pic was of smallish plants with large single colas. Grower by the name of Fuel. An image search for "Fuel 12/12 cannabis" should show it.

That was a very popular growing style and in many jurisdictions it was considered professional. Meaning if you're going to be prosecuted they won't look at you as a medical grower or personal grower they would look at you as a cash cropper. Most people who grow for any length of time tend to try to maximize the colas and strip away all of the non-productive parts of the plant. So one well-managed bush can often yield more and larger colas than a whole meter of sod plants.

These days I'm thinking of doing something similar, but I would use auto flowers in very small pots maybe 16 to 32 oz. I'm confident I can get at least 2 oz per plant with good stock and if I grow six that gives me a nice variety. I'll need less light less everything and still get plenty of smoke.

I doubt that they would consider my 7 sft cupboard professional.

fwir so far about 12/12 sog, they don't start flowering until 28 days or so. Reports that 12/12 from the start hurts yield and the result is likely to be less than 1oz per plant. Giving them 18/6 or 24/0 for a few weeks is said to add only a little time but can yield a bit more than 1oz per plant. The articles are old and lights are far more efficient now. imo, 2oz per plant is possible. 18oz from a 7 sft space? I can dream.

Grow one good autoflower in that space and get 12 to 14 oz. Stick with Coco and an air pot or a felt bag and one light one plant. Do lots of LST early on with at least one top or fim.

Seeds can be too different for me to be comfortable with just one plant. What if it isn't a good 'un? There won't be anything else to compensate.

I'm going to have another read of the Pepsi Challenge threads to see what can happen with 2 litres of media.

I suppose I could start say 4 seeds and when it gets crowded, cull the worst one. Rinse and repeat until I've got my one good auto.
