    Red face Time to change

    Hi Guys,

Following an electricity bill equivalent to the cost a new car, sadly its time to say goodbye to the HID and bite the bullet with LEDs! Angry Wife etc etc

Sorry, I’m sure it gets asked all the time, but can someone guide me on a good LED alternative to a 1kw HID fitting in my tent.. I guess a single unit would be simpler, but budget also a consideration here

And as I tend use a sealed room setup, I guess with air cooled vents too..? Not sure

Any advice would be much appreciated

    Thanks

    RM

    Wow what were you running?
Not that this is much use...
I’ve just gone from 250hps to 200led there about the same at the mo first grow... the led’s do let off a lot of heat so might be worth looking into that, eg get the ballast or what they use out of the room/tent, my one is a Attis it’s also dimmable.

I just switched from 600w HPS in a cool tube to 2x240w QB's,I ditched my 6" extraction fan and went down to a 4" fan.
I can't say how the QB's compare to the HPS yield wise yet as I just switched a couple of weeks ago,I can say that my auto Gorilla Glue is stickier, smellier, and more crystal coated than under my HPS,the buds are pretty solid as well.

Definitely be interested in how you find the switch. Local shop had a new LED system similar to the Maxibright/ Gavita systems. No brand name on it but no heat being kicked out. Rather then get sold on the sales patter rather someone says it really did improve yield before making the plunge
