Hoping to get a real christmas tree this year for the first time. I take it there are better places to get them from other than bq and the like? What's the best way to keep em alive and healthy til january?

I had a real Christmas tree once some years ago... never again! The bloody needles find every crook & cranny & you'll still be finding them next year

Pick you up A short niddle Pine. That is what we use to have when I was growing up. Just keep water in the pot she is in, and she will stay green, until you through her out.

We've got 1 that leaves glitter all over the place for at least 3 months after Christmas

It's a great way to keep the hoover in use during December mate.
Just be like 98% of us an keep it fake lol.
Only plus side is the nice pine scent and the branches seem to hold heavier decorations. Imho the downside outweighs the upside but as a 1 off experience I'd say go for it. If you have young kids it's like bubble wrap to them

Cut off about 3 inches from the bottom so it will uptake water better.
Make sure to check the water level daily because they will wick up a lot of water.
