Default 600w ballast / LED bulb?

    Hi there,

I’ve stumbled across a light kit I was storing for someone. I was going to use it until I realised it might not be safe. It contains a 600w hydrolux ballast a shade with e27 fitting with an LED bulb (rather large bulb) but I can’t find the wattage on it.

Does this seem a bit off to anyone? I’m pretty sure he claimed to have used this. Surely it wouldn’t be a 600w

I was going to use it as temporary measure until the weekend until I get a HPS setup but don’t want it catching fire

I would imagine the bulb would use it's own ballast/driver - which may be self contained from the look of it...

So using with a separate 600w ballast is not right lol didn’t think it would be but have no experience using LED bulbs

MC is right, that bulb doesn't need A ballast. Is your ballast for A 600W HPS? I wouldn't plug that into anything. lol

It's called a corn lamp, don't know out about them but you could do a bit of research now
