Default Answered: Burned tips following Shooting Powder... help?

    Hi all,

My current nutrients are: at week 6 of flower

    Flairform:
    Greendream-1 Bloom - 4.5ml/L
    Roots - 0.75ml/L
    Budstorm - 1ml/L
    Grostorm - 2.5ml/L
    Budgenie - 2.5ml/L
    CMX - 0.5ml/L
    SilikaMajic - 0.2ml/L

This morning I added Shooting Powder at the recommended dose to my mix and removed BudStorm. The EC was 1300ppm. I haven't checked waste EC.

I have come back this evening - about 4 hours later and every single leaf on all plants has a slight burn on the ends of the leaves.

What are your thoughts? Should I stop swapping out Budstorm for Shooting Powder or do I need to lower the initial EC before adding Shooting Powder? Like Less Greendream- Bloom intially?

    First time using shooting powder.

What medium are you using and do you really need such a complex concoction of nutes?

    I just followed the pamphlet.

    I'm in coco coir.

    - So since I've started this thread I've been flushing the plants with EC water - the initial run off was reading like 2000+ at 500 setting - what I was putting in was 1300 - so, there we go.
    - 2 of the plants I have gotten down to 300-500ppm run off, the last plant is still reading 2000+ on the run off - I've put like 60 litres of water through them lol.
    - They have gone to bed now, so I will give them another flush in the morning and see if I can get them right down, then give it another go with the feed. If I'm still getting more nute burn after that then I'll remove the shooting powder and go back to how I was.

Does that make sense/is that the right thing to do?

I do wish these nutrient providers made it clear that charts like this are merely a guide rather than definitive.

They make no allowance for the size of the plant, strain, pheno etc.

Don't feel foolish, we all make mistakes its how we proceed after our mistakes is what matters
