What a mate did was insulate and line the roof with 3mm white faced mdf. He hung the lights from the top beam and treated the loft like it was a triangular tent/cab.

Check out some of my older threads. I used to grow in a loft back at my mum and dad's house.

I didn't bother kingspanning mine. I literally built a groom that was attached to the rafters and hung MMMF over it. Never once had any issues with the LAPD but temps did get high hiring summer months.

On price comparison with the boarding of the rafters you could probably get a roof cube that would do fine. I say that but I know some attics can be a little low height wise

Yeah I'm not too keen on the rent route, I want a proper room thats solid, ive waited a long time and moved house multiple times to get the right space and this is it so if I'm gonna do it I'm gonna do it proper, ive found some alternative to kingspan that is a hell of a lot cheaper so im gonna go with that at 50mm thickness then black and white over it, the room will be 2.9m x 2.4m x 2.2m when finished, plenty of room for 9 girls and me to have plenty of room to tend to them without being cramped in or crawing underneath them
