If you If you can find the specs on the wires to the sensors you could always test them and see if you're having too much resistance. That would throw a code.

    Is this a diesel?
Only asking as it's a chain and no a belt?
If it's a diesel and a chain is it a duplex chain ?
If so I can't see it stretching and aren't they designed duplex so they can jump but continue running?

I broke one on a old 292 Ford V8 at 300,000 mi. hard as hell getting parts for that engine cuz it was common in the old 57 t Birds and none of the junk yards would part with their available parts because the t-bird guys would pay like three times what I was willing to pay.

It's petrol BG, rolling back odometer is a possibility, fella bought a new car so he just had this sat on the drive for over a year, not had any other issues, no loss in power, no clicks bangs or knocks (I check regular) just cut out random, checked again now and it's throwing all sorts of dashboard symbols out now too, steering lock on, ABS not active, low tyre pressure etc just random shit that's not actually broken....I can feel the scrap yard calling

Put the engine to top dead centre and whip off the cylinder head cover and check the timing marks on the cam sprockets.
