Default Optimal use of LED lighting in vegging stage

I have recently ordered a 600w dimmable LED light. The manufacturers recommendations are to run the light at 60cm to 80cm above the vegging plant then 35cm to 45cm above flowering plant at full power. Unfortunately the manufacturer does not specify the desired wattage output during veg. It is often said that lights should be placed further away from seedlings and young vegging plants but I think would it not be better and more economical to keep light at recommended height and reduce wattage output? Any advice I can gain from people experienced in using this type of light would be greatly appreciated.

No idea what light so no idea how to help.

At least work out how many watts it pulls from the wall and put up a pic of the light

Can't seem to get a picture up

Dimmable function is more flexible than switch. This light can replace a 250W HPS/MH lamp while consuming only 132W. according to specs

That's BS, it is only as good as the watts it pulls.

Light is good for a single plant in flower

    24" veg

    12-15" flower

If lamp consumes 130 watts off the wall
Then its maybe a 250w replacement for flower
As gardro says, good for one plant

My led pulls 130 from the wall at max and I do 1 or 2 plants under that. Around 8oz has been my yield with 1 or two plants it doesn't matter.

So if I understand your question, you want to know exactly what wattage to run your light at based on the growth stage of the plant. Basically, you don't want to be wasting 200W on a 4-day old seedling.

A tough question to answer; however, I can tell you a useful way to check. It would help if you had a luminometer, also called a lux meter, cheap on eBay. These can measure the light intensity from your grow light. During veg you need a minimum of 20000 lux, maxing out at 50000. While in flower you need a min of 40000 max at 80000. while seedlings and clones only need around 4000

More like 10-15k lux to young plants
    Up to 30-35k late veg
    And 50-60k flower

That light want replace A 250W HPS. It is still old tec light. You'll be lucky to get 1/2 gram per watt. JMO

But that isn't A bad thing, 1/2 per watt is still good amount of smoking weed.
