Default Answered: Flipping light cycle due to heat during the day?

    Hi all,

I am on 12/12 start of week 7.

It is coming into Summer where I live and my room temps during the day are hitting around 29-30 celcius and my plants are getting smoked.

I have strong airflow but the air coming into the room is already at like 20 celcius.

How much damage would it do if I flipped the cycle from what it is currently On: 08:30am, off 20:30pm to off 08:30am and on at 20:30pm?

If it won't cause too much havoc, how would I flip it? Extend the light or extend the dark?

I'm also mindful that I'm struggling to control the humidity during the day as well - the air coming in is at 60% and my dehumidifier can't keep up before the room as fresh air again.

I have 200mm ducting with a fan sucking exterior air in and 200mm ducting and a carbon filter + fan extracting the air out. I have my room fans blowing air in the general direction of the carbon filter to try and push the hot air that way as well.

I would extend the dark period and then make sure your temps will be okay on the new 12/12 schedule. I wouldn’t do it more than once mind. You’ll be stressing the plants for sure.

Ok thanks everyone - flipped em, fixed some insulation issues and maintaining good temps again now. Much appreciated.
