Default Unanswered: Help me read my runoff 'pretty pleeeeease'

    Hey guys

If you have been following any of my recent threads you will know I've had a battle with my ph pen causing all sorts of problems which has made me switch from autopot to drain to waste system.

I've taken a bit of information down before feeding my plants so I'm just wondering if you guys can help me read the run off, I think I'm seeing more water being taken up than nutrients.

    Have a look

From the tap ph 7.4 ec 0.3!

After nutrients added ph 6.3 ec 1.4!

(After biobizz ph down ph 5.7)

Run off ph 6.9 ec 1.0

I can list all the nutrients if that info is needed!

    Thanx

Dont worry about runoff ph.. just ec

I wouldnt exceed 1.0 ec of base nutes, with 0.3 tap.... Jmo

So the change in ph makes no difference I'm just looking for the uptake of nutes?

I added 1ml dechlorinator and the following nutes to 25 ltrs.

    Canna coco A 40ml/B 40ml, Calmag 10ml, Rhyzotonic 20ml and Canazyme 20ml

Idk what is that chlor thingie....

Canna range with tap of 0.3 is like mine. Definately not more than 0.7 of A+B to a total of 1.0

I dont measure ml.. i measure ec... Its roughly 1.25 mpl of a and b, if im not mistaken.

I will take this on board shreder thank you, so you mix and measure the base nutes before adding anything else to the mix.

My last grow i just went and followed the canna feed chart, didn't even use my Truncheon to measure ec just ph'd but this mess-up has me taking a different approach 'more respectful' towards the procedure rather than throwing everything in and hoping it works out

This is the stuff i use, few people on here use it.

Works with fish and plants to remove chlorine and chloramines

Passive hydro, aka drain to waste, has a wide range of acceptable pH. I've read pH 5.8 to pH 6.2 a few times. With feeding every day, the pH only has to stay within range for 24 hours. (Assuming adequate runoff volume.) With dtw, you're spending a bit more on nutes so might as well enjoy the convenience that comes with it.

In your situation, I would start using the same nutes and tap water as is. pH 6.3 is probably close enough and will save you time, effort and money if it works ok. If it's not ok, your plants will soon tell you.

I give mine the same strength from seed to chop. Same volumes of water and nutes every time. It's a long time since I've owned a pH or ec meter.

I've had problems with a pH pen the past week, early signs looked like nutrient burn so I backed off the nutes but it just got worse and worse so i flushed and flushed again but they still got worse wasnt until the leaves started twisting that i knew it wasn't nutrient burn.

I had been calibrating my ph pen aswell. Noticed it was going out a bit but assumed the calibration was working so not only was i feeding wrong ph water i was flushing them with wrong ph water

Plants took a hit really bad so I'm wanting to keep the ph on the lower side and maybe creep it up over a period of days see how they react

@Farmer Geddon you obvoiusly know how to read your plants very well. I would never advise someone to grow in coco without meters.

This looks opposite to nute burn...
Gotta get your ph 5.8 and ec 1.0 take it on from there.... Those are my guidline numbers whenever in doubt thats my feed... Plant goes dark i back off (rarely happens with 1.0).. if goes pale up to 1.1, 1.2.. small increments, wait couple days to see changes..
