Default Connecting a PC fan to a 12v adaptor

    Hi everyone,

Setting up a microgrow and am struggling with the fans!

I have one fan at the moment, and am trying to set it up with a 12v power adaptor. I have tried following the rollitup thread with instructions on this to an absolute T but something isn’t right!

    link: ~Link Removed~ - Ice

(I would post there but that thread is really old)

I have my PC fan’s red wire attached to the adaptor’s white wire, and the two black wires attached to each other also. Nothing is happening!

I’m a complete noob, clearly! Any input would be great as this is my second time trying this! Brand new fan and adaptor being used.

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

In America Red and Black are both hot wires. Don't know where you are. White would be nutrual or ground maybe. JMO

    No links mate

Just try all wires, if nothing works then its your fan or adapter at fault

The PC fan has an extra wire for the rev count, look up which wire is what for the fan, then hook up the power adapter to those two on the fan. Colours don't always refer to the same thing with different manufacturers.
