Anything that is designed for safety that's starting to act differently i would personally change out or if its high value have an electrician have a look at it.

I bought a 4k all singing and all dancing 50inch TV a few years back and the thing would make a high pitch noise when switched off, sent it back for fear of it failing or worse catching fire turned out to be capacitor squeel?

I personally wouldn’t risk the chance of a fire. I’d replace it. It may well be safe still, but if it’s not, and there is a fire you’re going to have to explain why you was growing cannabis both to the fire dept and the police. And you can guarantee once the police know they will be watching you. It’s not a risk I would take personally. Just replace it mate you’ve had 3 good years out of it so I wouldn’t worry about replacing it.
