The aim for HPS lamps is a gram per watt... quite hard to achieve with autos...

    Im using a 60x60x120

    Is that a typo?

I'm an old fart so I think in Imperial. That's 2 feet by 2 feet and 4 feet high. Barely enough to keep a mother plant let alone do a full grow. Running a 600w hps in there is err...brave. At 150w per square foot, even an 8" rvk would have trouble keeping the temps in line.

I've only done one auto grow but fwir, they start to flower once the roots have become established. Pot size somewhat determines plant size. I used 5L pots in an 80cm square space and they were about the correct size. With a 20L pot, imo they would be 4 foot tall (or more) before they started flowering.

Thanks and maybe I have the size wrong but if so could I not take them out if this happens and just hang the light above them?

What sort of light are you using?? Hps or LED if that's a hps then it will most likely cause you some problems with the heat like farmer said

I have done that a few times back when I started. It won't be the highest yield ever but ime, them not being hemmed in gives less problems.

You will have to light proof the room as the orange light from an hps is a big giveaway.
