    Another variety of what? I assume not a plant as plants tend not to be prefixed with a letter

    some bibliography separate C.sativa var. sativa C.sativa var. indica C.sativa var. ruderalis C. sativa var. afghanica
    but some bibliography report it as indica variety

    I've always believed cannabis sativa XXXXX was correct, just replace xxx's with sativa or Indica not sure about ruderalis.

    From Wikepedia

    Afghanica (C. sativa subsp. indica 'Skunk 1' × C. sativa 'Afghani 1') , not to be confused with Afghan Kush, is a hybrid strain of cannabis. Its origination plants were Afghani #1 and so-called "Original" Skunk. Growing up to 1.83 m (6 ft.) tall, it is short and stocky with broad leaves a lush canopy, and dense buds as well. The plant matures over the summer and is ready for harvest in mid-autumn

    i believe that they group them together because they are very similar and i believe that they separate them because they got micro difference:/
