Default Please help my mother having bad sides with Rso

Just joined, big hello to everyone hope you can help me,

My mother which is 84 has been regularly taking Rso for arthritis pain relief and insomnia. She started taking it on and off about 2 years ago. The Rso was made from vanilla Kush strain. She always took it with her meal before bed, so it would kick in when she was sleeping or about to sleep. The amount she took was the size of 2 rice grains from a syringe. After about the first year of use she was fine and only side effect was hunger pains and anxiety during the next day. The supplier changed and then she got the oil from a different source and it was made of a mixture of strains Star dog, Cheese, Blue gelato and Amnesia.

Soon after she experienced hallucinations, confusion, memory loss and mood swings that she never had before. These side effects would sometimes manifest after taking it, or up to 24 hrs later. So she stopped the oil after 8-10 weeks of use because of the sides.

What I found strange was the positive/ negative effects continued even when she stopped taking the oil for about 2-3weeks

She was off for about 2 months and the pain and arthritis started to flare up again so we thought why not give the oil another try. The same oil was used as we had lots still left over from last time. She was doing very well on it appetite was up and no arthritis pain. About 2 months in she has started started getting the negative effects again the hallucinations, confusion, memory loss and mood swings.

The side effects I described are very scary to watch and deal with. So she has decided to stop the oil. Been 3 days now and she still having the side effects also the relief.

Is it normal for the positive/ negative effects continue for 2-3weeks after stopping? . Is it because the oil has stored in the body, her age and slow metabolism?

    Welcome to The Forum

I think it's very possible that it takes longer to metabolize and clear out the oil at her age especially if she has any significant quantity of body fat. She doesn't even have to have much in the way of body fat if she's ever had something like her gallbladder removed.

There could also have been a some type of pesticide on those flowers that were used and she's experiencing a toxic reaction to those. So many pesticides are neurotoxins to the bugs I can't imagine what they would do to people.

If you can get high CBD cannabis strains that may really help make a more balanced RSO.

Many people who cannot tolerate the side effects of RSO will take them rectally, if they're inserted in just a small amount just past the first sphincter then the high won't be as intense or noticed at all.

Apigenin may help mediate things a bit it's a natural supplement and it's used by a lot of cancer patients that are treating with RSO.

I'm sorry she's having such a difficult time I hope things improve for her shortly.

Oh and one more thing it's pretty easy to make a basic body butter out of RSO and a nice oil-like grapeseed oil or pumpkin seed oil and beeswax. that works very well for arthritis and she might not have to take any orally at all.

Thanks for the reply I really appreciate it... I’ll definitely look in to the Apigenin. Can the thc also store in the brain as it mainly made up of fat?

Absolutely THC is real good at crossing the blood brain barrier and as you say the brain is all basically cholesterol.

How long would you think it will take to completely metabolise, this time she is feeling it a lot more. Any supplement she can take help the process along?

Most elderly folks do not drink nearly enough fluids and flushing it out with water is in my opinion the very best, along with a little increase in exercise if she's capable. Anything that can reasonably and safely increase the metabolism of fats could help, but it's a little bit worrisome trying to figure things out for the geriatric populations.

+1 for suppositories. Much higher bioavailability than oral. All the benefits without the high. Win win!

She stopped taking the Rso 3 days ago, still getting side effects and benefits. So it seems like she has quite a bit stored and releasing slowly
