Default Dehumidifier in the drying room

    Hey all,

My cindys are coming down soon and RH today has crept upto 65% so I’m going to put in a dehumidifier. When I crop them I’ve got 2 clip on fans blowing air around the room. I’ve got a drying net, and I plan on trimming the buds and chucking them in there and shaking them daily.

Can I run a dehumidifier in the room set to 50% these buds are dense as fuck so I’m seriously worried about getting mould

    Please help a brother out

Is that grow room inside another room or in a garage?

Fresh air comes into the actual room from outside and the room itself is pretty much sealed up like a grow tent

If you are pulling air in directly from outside, I guess you have no choice but to put it in there. It will dry out the crop a lot quicker so you would have to keep an eye on it!

FYI - this is based on everything I have read online and been told on here!

Yeah that’s the issue I’m gonna have, but if it’s set to 50% humidity it should still slow dry shouldn’t it?

You would think, as i did. I put my one on thinking that and it didn't stop running for a whole day, so I'm guessing it needed to continually run to hold the set RH which means it will be pulling the moisture out the buds rather than a natural evaporation. That in turn speeds up the drying but certain chemicals in the plant won't have time to convert correctly and you end up with harsh smoke.

If I am wrong, I'm sure someone on here will pipe up soon enough mate!

Ahh fuck, I’ve used a drying net before numerous times without issues. This is a new grow room tho and as such I’ve got a much better crop this time around. The buds are really dense so I really am worried about just chucking the trimmed destorked buds into the net and just moving them about daily.
