Red face pros and cons of lights

Be nice to know peoples experiences with say the following: plasma lights, cdm light and led lights.
Are we all being suckered by the companies manufacturing and marketing these lights.
i have yet to see any other light that compares and is value for money that makes the end product that much more yield wise or quality wise, and the only pro with these lights seems to be energy savings.
Example i just picked up a beautiful maxibright adjust a wing enforcer medium reflector with an optilux platinum dimmable ballast and matching full spectrum bulb for £99, the light spread from this is claimed 1.75m x 1.35m, tbh it is amazing it pisses all over a 1m parabolic and lights up twice the footprint on basic dutch barn reflector.
I have extensively researched all the other, newer lighting systems with a view to purchasing one, but after all that research, fuck it i just don't see the benefits v mega costs involved.

I can bore you with led sales talk but they will be two or three times the investment of HID like youve seen.

Plasma and ceramic seem to have less point than led if you ask me, cost wise. May as well stick with high pressure sodium.

Tow or three times the cost but surely not equalling the output of say a 660w hps for £300

Depends on which end of the product range. Theres cheaper led to compare to cheaper HPS.

Bear in mind you will get a return on investment each time you use the led.

ok so a cheaper but top quality £99 complete kit hps like i mentioned i just purchased v a £100 led, this is a no contest, no leds for 100 quid are worth buying.

So onto high end hps at around £350 complete kits, again still no leds that perform as well for this price, you get a return on both lamps, ok leds less electric but colder months a heater is needed in room which can negate the savings, lets say 315 cdm, using 315w, very similar output to 500w hps but far superior light being shod on ya plants.

That's not true, I got two 130W for about that price.

    HPS is around 1.5 umol / J
    CMH 1.7umol / J
    Led upto 2.9

CMH is not worth it imho unless you go for the super premium range and 500w is never 315w.

No surprise that less watts is less heat. Same applies to CMH and any other electrical device.

This is only talking about quanity to. Theres no contest when it comes to quality.

    But

It sounds like you already have your mind up

Check out the LED'S sales when they start there Christmas Sales, I miss A 13% discount on Black Friday, but still got A 10% and 5% discount on the two. I'm waiting on A 20% knock off before I buy my next one. I think it will be Christmas, or maybe 420. But you can't really beat the price of An QB LED.

Here is my two 130W at 50W each, just about blinds ever time I open the door. I paid 115 and 122 of your money, but can get them much cheaper probably after Christmas if not before.
