Default hooking up a dimmer to my driver

    hey guys i have a meanwell 709-HLG-600H-54A

I have the driver hooked up to my lights and they are on.

I hooked the dimmer switch up but it wont' dim the lights. If I turn the knob all the way to the left it will shut them off but it won't dim them in between

The dimmer has two wires. Red and brown
There's 3 wires coming out of my driver

    red, brown, and yellow.

I hooked up the red and brown wires to each other and i turn the dimmer knob to the left and it just shuts the lights off.

So i thought maybe the yellow wire has to be hooked up to the positive side to cut the power down...nope...does nothing.

On the driver next to the yellow wire it says +5

Does the yellow wire need hooked up to the negative side then?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Yeah. I got that part.

Where does the yellow wire go?

The dimmer is hooked up and shuts the lights off. It won’t dim them

You have selected an A type driver. You cannot hook up an external dimmer. Use the internal dimmer beneath the rubber cap

    Leave the yellow wire alone.

Google the Company you bought it from, they should be able to guide you to how it works. That is what I did when I got mine. If you still having trouble with it, they will replace it more than likely, they did mine. good luck and happy growing.

Sounds like you might be color blind, because my wires are red, black, and white. On mine, red goes to red, and Black goes to Black, and the white wire goes to where it is, no need to look for any where for it to go.
