    I use isopropyl alcohol to clean mine and maybe some washing up liquid, does the job for me

    I'll have a glass filled with the iso..leave that in there for some time and then clean and dry them off.

    For sharpening I use one of these (on a rare occasion, like once a year) ;

    Felco diamond sharpener.

    Does the iso not affect the plastic?

    Only covers the metal, not any of the plastic parts

    So just fill a glass enough so only the metal parts are sitting inside it.

    I agree M_C. It's like 7 or 8 bucks for a twin pack.
    Can't be bothered with sharpening

    I use the small set of hair scissors to trim. I use what you do for cutting the branches. I dont sharpen but when the scissors get sticky I use a Stanley blade and run it along the scissors to take all the junk off
