    Default Garage groom build

Hi all, I’m hoping someone pops in here that’s done a similar build.

I’m going to build a partition wall about 2/3 in to my garage so the back 3rd will be my “growing” space, by the time I’m finished with it, it’l be it’s own room. The garage is about 3m wide, 2.5 meters tall and I want to have my wall about 2.2-2.5m deep from the back wall. The walls are double bricked but I still get some extreme temperature differences.

I’m going to be using celotex/kingspan on the walls and il just use rock wool on the ceiling between the joists then ply board it. What’s the best way to stick the celotex/kingspan to the walls? Should I baton them first or could I just stick them straight to the wall?

I've done this dude. Ill get some pics tonight. I just used mdf board and some 2x4 for the frame. And then used that silver insulation stuff and stapled it to the inside. The door i just used magnets so I can lift it away and put it back when I'm inside the "groom room". My heaters are outside the tent (now I'm using led) in the summer temps ar great with no heat needed well I say that but last summer was shit was a few times the heater had to kick in to keep it above 18 some nights. Was already a hole in the wall for a tumble drier which is now used as my exhaust for my tent.
All this was built quickly and not much thought haha I could have done it better but it works great for me.

Cheers wags, I’ve decided I don’t mind spending some pennies on it as long as it’s done properly. I’ve got my dad to give me a hand putting it together. Hopefully in a few weeks/months it will all come together nicely!

Nice one dude. One thing I wish I had of done was insulate the entire floor. I've done under the tent but when I'm sat in there watering and shit it's fucking cold on my ass. . Specially in winter. Used a bit of black rubber flooring for now but doesn't keep the cold out.

I’ve got brick outside and block inside so the walls are double layered so I’m not sure wether to insulate them. Il definitely insulate the ceiling and the partition wall but the walls I wasn’t sure of.

I’m glad you’ve mentioned the floor because I wasn’t really going to do anything but I could do something there. Just something simple like this I had in mind

Mines smaller than that but ye same thing man. I have a light in the room aswell cos I chop in there works pretty well. I've just used the same silver stuff on the outside wall down the side of the tent. The other three walls are just mdf and the insulation with a washer and tumble dryer above each other on one side. I did have an issue when I bought a bigger tent I dint think about moving it around in the room nevermind building it. I had to get inside the tent and build it up from inside. It was a fucking rite effort man. .

It will all come together as I start to build it, I hope as long as I can keep it a little warmer than it already is il be golden.

I priced up all the timber already so il get that ordered soon. It’s the insulation that’s digging a hole in my pocket lol

Good luck man. Hope u can get all the timber u need. With the insulation,That's why I just used the cheaper stuff. It was still pretty expensive for bloody silver bubble wrap is what it is really haha. To be fair the door isn't properly sealed the the room and it keeps warm in there it's a constant 25c in there. In the winter anyway.
