Default Is this a silver fish?

Sitting on the bog hiding from the children i noticed this thing running about on my bathroom floor.

    Is it a silverfish?
Anyone know how to get rid of them?

Amazon is out of stock at the moment but see if you can get a "bug assault" gun.

It's basically a hand pumped shotgun that fires table salt granules, think gravity feed paintball guns, but it blasts like a shot gun.

That thing "fires" salt granules at whater the gun is pointing at, like some big bad insect, and the salt, sodium chloride once inside the insects body disrupts their nervous system (besides rupturing their exoskeleton), killing them dead. And because the ammo is only table salt, it's pretty safe.

Been wanting one for a while.

They tend to be unavailable at family gathering seasons, I wonder why.

These silver fish are usually hard to spot and scarper when lights are turned on from what I've read...

Saw them in some student digs.

Does anyone remember something like this on X Files?

    Something very alien about them

"They inhabit moist areas, requiring a relative humidity between 75% and 95%.In urban areas, they can be found in attics, basements, bathtubs, sinks, kitchens, old books, classrooms, and showers."

Unsure how I'm going to do this, I have an extraction fan that comes on when lights are turned on right next to the shower coming out the wall.

Concrete floor and asbestos aib board in the ceiling, bathroom is on the ground floor

There are 3 basic sorts of these fans...

Fan comes on & off with lights
Fan comes on with lights & when light goes off, starts a timer to switch fan off in 'X' amount of time
Fan automatically comes on & keeps RH below a certain %

...also, as with grow room fans, some are better than others

Unfortunately fan with the lights is my only option.
When wiring this extractor fan i didn't have a constant live feed for the timer, it's an old house and my electrics are red and black so pretty old.

Maybe an upgraded extractor with higher cfm might help out
