Mylar is a pita. Difficult to hang flat, creases easily and doesn't last as every cleaning reduces its reflectance. 3mm white faced mdf is reflective enough to allow 1.0 gpw with hps. Better would be painting it with Dulux Absolute White from their Light & Space range. Better again would be Orca. Not cheap but it hangs flat, is tough, washable and reusable. With my last cellar setup, instead of a cab, I had Orca hanging like a shower curtain around the scrog trolleys.
The number on the led light is the manufacturers estimate of its equivalent wattage to hid. cfl lights used the same trick, 40W on the box and 7W in the small print. fwir here, a led that is truly equivalent to a 600w hps draws about 400w from the wall. It will be a year or more before the savings in leccy equals the cost of the led.
I went from hps to 315w cmh. Way better. Now that I've downsized, I have enough of them to last as long as I will. If I did have to start over, led would be tempting but I'd probably go for a used 315w cmh. The popularity of led means used cmh can be quite the bargain if you're patient.
For value for money, a 6" high power rvk fan is hard to beat. Compare its output to a 5" fan and see how little you save for such a large reduction in airflow.
