So my son got a tv from currys a couple of years back interest free credit...He finished paying for it (well thought he had) in september direct debit...He's had 3 demands for a balance of 8p, cost more in paper ink and postage....You really couldn't make this shit up could ya, the worlds gone fecking mad lol...

The worst of it is it will go down as a late payment and will show your account as unsettled...

Times must be tough for currys few years back I was paying off my car finance, paid my final payment and they still had the cheek to keep trying to take payments after that!

You have to contest it. Best thing you can do is pay the 8p and ring them up complaining saying they messed up the payment plan you had moved away so never got any letters and hope they remove all traces off your credit rating.

Had that from Cancer Research after raising money for them and handed the monies over. Never again will I donate to professional organised "charities".

    Direct Debit Guarantee

The Guarantee is offered by all banks and building societies that accept instructions to pay Direct Debits

If there are any changes to the amount, date or frequency of your Direct Debit the organisation will notify you (normally 10 working days) in advance of your account being debited or as otherwise agreed. If you request the organisation to collect a payment, confirmation of the amount and date will be given to you at the time of the request

If an error is made in the payment of your Direct Debit, by the organisation or your bank or building society, you are entitled to a full and immediate refund of the amount paid from your bank or building society

If you receive a refund you are not entitled to, you must pay it back when the organisation asks you to

You can cancel a Direct Debit at any time by simply contacting your bank or building society. Written confirmation may be required. Please also notify the organisation.

No nothing was cancelled our side...Bottom of the letter says total credit £899 over 18 mths, monthly payment £49.94. I make that £898.92p so that leaves the 8p...Surely the 8p should have been added to the first or last payment...
