Instead of getting females from regulars, can you pollinate feminized plants and get the same result as if you'd used regulars from the start?

I can't see why not, fems are fems right? Just that regs have a 50/50 chance of being male or female, that's my logic anyway. I get bogged down by reading too much lol

You can pollinate the fem plant with a reg's pollen but you will then get reg seeds. To get fem seeds you need to stress the fem so she produces pollen which is basically fem pollen.....Pollen from a reg is not fem pollen it is the normal as nature intended pollen.

So if you had say a fem of X and you wanted to cross it with fem Y then you would need to stress a cut of one and cover the other with the resulting pollen.

Yeh what I was getting at is can you use the pollen from male plants grown from regs to pollinate feminized plants (as in fem plants you would buy that are advertised as feminized seeds) with the male pollen and get female seeds? or would the seeds be regular?

lol smoke another one MrC, I think Davidfa did answer this question.
If you use pollen from a regular plant it will carry male traits (Y) so if you add the pollen from a regular male it will add its Y to the females X and you will get XY, both male and female traits. (the seeds will be regular 50/50 male and female)
if you want to make female seeds you have to make sure Y never enters the equation
If you hermie a female with colloidal silver then the pollen it produces will carry and X chromosome and if you pollinate another female plant with it its off spring will consist of two X chromosomes and will be all female.

Ok I get it, I think, so if you pollinate a fem with a male, collect seeds, then grow them out to find a female with the right traits you like and get it to stress and pollinate itself to get all female seeds?

Pretty much yeah, or if you have two identical females you can stress one to produce pollen and then pollinate the sister plant.
what's your end goal maybe I or someone much smarter on here than me can point you towards a more specific breeding technique?

Are you wanting to cross strains or duplicate one?

Just interested in general, end goal is just to create some nice crosses, so pheno hunting first I suppose. When I find phenos I like I can use that plant and run cuts off it, then stress them to pollinate themselves and each other maybe.

Cheers to davidfa for the info and Deku for clearin it up lol
