    Default duel spectrum bulbs

I was wondering what you folk who know about lighting think about duel spectrum bulbs?

I use a halide for grow & a hps for flowering as I don’t like the duel spectrum bulbs.
my friend brought one round & we had a friendly disagreement about them & afterwards wondered if I was just stuck in my ways.

In my mind with haildes in veg you don’t get much stretching & it seems daft to use a halide in veg then use a duel spectrum in flower rather than a straight up hps.
what do you folk think ? Its possible I’m stuck in my ways & a duel in flower is as good as a hps ?

I like to mix dual spec with MH in veg then go dual spec for flower...I found that if I just use MH only for veg the stretch is certainly reduced and the leaf colour looks much better but the stems and branches are not as thick...

I use dual spectrum from start to finish, mainly 'cos I'm too lazy to change it in my cool tube (a right royal pain it is) - everything seems fine for me, I don't seem to suffer too much stretch

I used to use 600w hps from start to finish and change the lamps every 2 grows. I never noticed any difference between plain hps and dual spectrum so I ended up buying whatever was cheapest.

Dual spectrum is claimed to have 15% more blue but plain hps has very little blue. 115% of not very much is still not very much.

I use MH in veg dual spec in flower. Only use MH in veg as I have some MH bulbs laying around and I prefer the colour. Easier to look at

Not sure about stem thickness on light tho never had a problem with MH or dual spec in veg. Doubt ul notice much difference go dual spec cheaper

    Food for thought.
Yeah deff easier on the eyes.
Was wondering how often folks change there bulbs compared to what I do seems about the same.

Was nagging that extra blue in flower must promote root growth instead of putting all its efforts into flowering.
    Guess that was wrong then.

Iv asked this question many of times and I always get back iv noticed no difference or plants stay greener with dual spec... I just stop over thinking now and just stick with what iv been doing lol.

I change after 2 grows to be safe. Im using boost on both of my lights this grow to keep the temps above 24c so I might even change after 1 grow this time as iv seen peeps say boost shortens the life of the bulb. I guess the last thing we want is buds growing shite cuz we could of changed a bulb for the sake of £20
