Philips Green power or sylvania grolux for a good budget lamp.

I would go with the Cheaper one's, 19.95 one's. They seem to be just as good as the high dollar one's. JMO

I never noticed a difference between brands.

I have 3 types of bulbs for my hood vivosun MH, vivosun super hps and a sunmaster dual spec all 400w
The Metal Halide gives amazingly healthy looking green colour but really hard to get humidity high enough, it's like chicken bone dry in the grow cupboard and may be just in my head but it seems to piss away the electric
I don't rate the super HPS it seems really poor and buds were tiny but rock hard
So using the sun master dual spec seems best all round
Now if someone was to say 400w is 400w and won't make a difference and it is all in my head about electricity bills using the MH, then I'll go drop that one back in

Thing is we not mearsuing by Watts any more, We have all jump over to PAR readings instead, so you might want to get you
A PAR meter, and see just what light is hitting what spot. JMO

Lol It's in your head 400w is 400w +10% waste 440w but that's not say there isn't some other issue.
You can buy a plug in meter that tells you how many watts is being consumed, amps, units, £cost volts etc usually around a tenner.
