    Default Recycling old soil

Alright folks, I'm wondering if someone can enlighten me on using old soil again. I've got about 15 ltr of soil that was only in use for 4 wks or so, plenty of roots etc mixed in with it though. How do I go about cleaning it or ridding it of any potential bugs etc, then using it again? I imagine it's gonna need revitalising, so the usual organic amendments for each need, nitro, mag etc?

The best way to get rid of bugs, is to lock the soil up in your car, when it is hot out. 140 degrees in A car for A day will kill any thing. Or you can spray the top with Raid and in A couple of days chrun the soil up.

Do not use raid on or anywhere near plants you're smoking!!! That is god awful advice
If the soil has been used for four weeks it'll still be good for seedlings etc.
If using bottled nutes then it should be ok, if not wanting to add nutrients you can recharge the soil using things such as blood and bone meal and worm castings. Though this will need 60 days to mature and not be too hot to plant into.
What are you looking to do?

Do you think there will be bugs in your soil man?? Why? No need to remove the roots just churn it up and add your ammendments, I'm currently using my soil for the 3rd time. Granted I rejuvenate it with ecpthrive life cycle after every grow. Or may last go I added all the ammendments myself and its been sound. This will be last time I use it tho. I'll start fresh next time just for peace of mind I also want to change out the perlite for rice hulls

I've got a clone I need to pot up before it gets too much, it's only in a small plastic cup atm. I could buy a small bag of soil but seemed a good time to enquire about reusing this lot. I have plant magic organic and hard water soil nutes, also canna bio. So when adding amendments it needs to be left to 'cook', that right? And you'd say about 60 days. It'll be potted up again before flower but thats ages away. so could cook some with amendments for when it goes into flower

Just to put your mind at ease, i have previously and very successfully transplanted a new plant into a pot of old soil of a plant that had literally just been chopped. If your using nutrients don't worry about it

Cheers fellas, thought it best to raise the issue instead of just ploughin ahead and paying for it later. Just letting it dry out a bit then I'll use some of the suggestions and pot up
