    how is it doing, bud?

finally got into the back of the shed and took a pic of my larger farm to show you how i done the holes.
at most the holes are 10mm. i used to put a ayer down of the largest clay pebbles and then pour rest in.

i blocked hole for dripper after my first grow cos i stopped using it completely and hand fed till roots got into res. keeping the pebbles somewhat moist by feeding through them.

Alright Kro not too bad mate I'm heading in the right direction hopefully. Ive raised the EC by 0.1 and ph by a point or two. The plant was very compact so raised the light by a few inches and its starting to stretch towards it thankfully as some of the leaves were resting on the pebbles. That looks a good job on the holes on yours although it screams putting a mesh grid in the bottom lol. Did you find the pebbles held ok and not fall through them?
Heres the plant after the few adjustments bud

Have to admit that changing the pump has made some difference.

nah, no need for a mesh. i feel they might clog tbh.

if you make sure the bottom inch or 2 has the biggest pebbles you'll be ok.

you'll see some pebbles settle in the hole looking like they are blocking it. but dont worry about that as the roots will find their way down into the res.

how high is light set at now?

is the pump still in the tent?

Yeah makes sense that mate. I'm constantly grabbing the smaller pebbles when I chuck an ice pack into the res.
The light is about 25" away from the plant and yes the pump is still in the tent. I know that won't help with res temps but my airlines aren't long enough to be able to keep the pump outside tent. I'm putting about 2 ice packs in per day and the temp is normally 19 - 20 degrees. Anything over 21 has me grabbing another ice pack

Heres probably the best possible pic I can get with light on. The Mark's on the screen can be annoying tbh.

ice packs are a good option but defo not a long term solution. ideally you want the pump outside.
get yourself some black airline. seen them used on aquariums. cheap enough and will benefit the ladies in the long run.

then focus on keeping are around pump cool to maintain a temp.
