I’ve also got a 20w monkey fan, it’s done me nearly 2 grows now. I try my best to keep it constantly running otherwise it takes forever and a day to start back up again lol. But il definitely buy another some real good air movement

I might have just got lucky with this one Blue, think I paid about 20 quid so 40 usd seems high.

Keeping any fan horizontal with no tilt is key to long life, while oscillating.

Right where to start lol the monkey jobs are excellent very well made and as Gardro said if you keep them on a level plain while oscillating they will last a long time. However the one that Wags has got with the clip on foot is another one that will last you for years and you don’t need to keep that on a level plain. I have got both and in my nightmare closet things aren’t nowhere near what some of you would be able to deal with. Please don’t take that the wrong way i am stuck with what i got and thats that. Anyway on the original subject nearly all of the fans that you think have died are still alive and kicking!! What you need to do is simply take them apart remove the spindle from the so called bearings which is not really a bearings it’s more or a brass spindle holder then simply blast the bearings with isopropyl and give them a clean then on the spindle get a little piece of wet n dry 1500 grit paper and just clean the spindle where it sits inside the bearings. If you take a little bit more off you will find that it will run for a lot longer than before and before you need to strip it down and repeat the process again. You can use whatever oil or grease you like but just keep in mind don’t use the stuff that fucking stinks or so will your girls. I used nano grease. Sorry for such a long piece but honestly i bet that most of you are throwing fans out that simply need a clean. I know i did before i thought fuck this and took one of the broken ones apart and found that it was just gummed up. Right i’m going to shut this mini book down. Happy fan fixing
