    Default Needing help pleasssse!

Hi I am new to growing and I am having difficulties with my plants as they seem to be dropping or wilting. Can anyone give me advice in terms of is it too much or not enough nutrients also I’m doing hydro and not sure if it has to do with watering either. Much help would be appreciated thanks

Welcome to The Forum, brother If you're in hydro and getting wilting from a mature plant it is usually either low dissolved oxygen in your reservoir or root rot. How much is your air pump rated? liters per minute usually.

Hi thanks for the quick response bud, I only started putting an air pump in the other day as I read about stagnant water just sitting in the tank could be the reason for not getting enough oxygen. Should the tray where the plants sit be covered up so no light can get to the roots eg black bags or should air get into the tray where the roots sit. In regards to root rot i do know I had to lift the tank up and put some wood underneath to allow water to run down and into the tank as water had been clogging up roots ? I can send more photos if need be but there is defiantly a few problems

You definitely want to keep your res covered and your pump should be able to put out at least 10 l per minute of air, I like 15 l per minute myself. If you're getting 15 l per minute and you got a nice air stone throwing off plenty of fine bubbles, that should be good. You also want the temperature of your reservoir to stay relatively cool or that'll give you problems getting enough dissolved oxygen and lead to root rot.

Thanks for the response again jingo, my pump is 10 litre and after switching it on and putting a few air stones which a bought yesterday they seem to be doing a lot better! Cheers.

Can low oxygen make some of the leaves turn inwards also..see when it comes to switching the lights from cfl to hps when’s best to do that also? I hear you keep the veg nutes in for a week or two after switching to bloom is this correct
    .
Hi George and Cannabug cheers for the warm welcome Guys!

10 l will probably carry you for one plant. I'm not sure what you're talking about on the leaves a close-up picture with normal lighting would be good.

Some nutrient companies might do an abrupt switch from veg to bloom, you know those types that have an A and B, as far as nutrients that don't have two parts you kind of taper off your veg nutrients as you're increasing your bloom nutrients.

Do you mean the 10 litre pump is only good enough for one plant as I have 8.. I thought the pump with the air stone had made it a lot better after installing but really it has made it a little better in the end. I’ve took some pics to show you what is going on in my garden of Eden. Your responses are much appreciated!
