    Default Farms allotment

I may aswell start a little topic on here because the wife is bored of me ramming veg pics in her face
I didnt realise how beneficial to the body and mind, having a little patch of land where you can do your own thing, was going to be.
There is always something to be done or something to prep ready for the following weeks or months. The joy of popping in a few seeds, be it flowers or veg, and waiting in anticipation for bloom and harvest.
I've got my self 6 chickens on there which to be fair are really interesting animals. Ive many a time blazed a J and just sat there watching them mooch about.
Here are a few pictures of whats going on up there at the minute. The first two are garlic in pots, and some in a bed. The other two are onions and shallots which I've overwintered. They went in about October time.

This should be interesting, I'm going big on my outdoor garden this year. I want to be as close to self-sufficient as possible within the next year or so at least as far as food goes.

I already have my garden seeds and my propagation mats and everything else I'm just waiting for temperatures to warm up enough to use my new greenhouse.

Theres nothing better jingo that eating your own grow food! I did all the veg last year for Xmas Dinner which was my goal for the start of 2020. Ive just ran out of potatos aswell but that was down to me not storing them properly
If you look for the 'dig for victory' guide it will give you year round food, I'm trying to follow that this year as much as I can

That looks interesting, I truly believe that if people aren't growing their own food in the next two or three years they're going to be hungry at times.

Sadly, I think a lot of city people are going to get sick and die from malnutrition. We have people walking around in America that are obese but malnourished and they're the ones dying from coved.

Thats right jingo I agree with you.
Only thing I have to be careful with is bringing pests back into the tent. I fetched spidermite back from the greenhouse last year, luckily I got on top of it rapid. Ive got myself a boiler suit now so I just slip that on and off once I've been up.

The new potato's are chitting away. Another 4 or 5 week and they will be ready for planting. Signs of longer days are definitely on the way up this end, got the first few crocus through

To be self sufficient is a great goal to aim for.
You are so right about the joy of growing own produce and having some chooks too
I'm going to read that Dig for Victory guide you mentioned.
