Going Auto...

I am just wrapping up my 2nd photoperiod run & am contemplating doing autoflowers on my next run...

I have a 500W heater which is on a chunk of the time my 520W of lighting is off & if my tent was lit 20/4 I feel like it would be a better use of the electricity

My current run of 5 plants will have been 16 weeks from seed to harvest & I am expecting (hoping) to pull 20 zips minimum off it. At 4 zips per plant should be easily obtainable but those sound like auto numbers?

Granted I would have preferred to do 4 plants & veg them longer to make better use of the height I have available, however on the other hand I could have just turned around about the same result but in a month shorter time frame...?


Am I on the right track with my thinking or have I overlooked anything?

Cheers, I was looking at strains from both Barney's Farm & Fast Buds...

What would be a high yield from on auto? 5 zips?

TBH you are using more lighting than me, so I don't really know what capability you'll have but 4 ounce upwards should be achievable

I've been averaging 5oz/plant dry in 2gallon fabric pots,one gorilla glue auto gave me 9.5oz dry in a 3gallon fabric pot after I topped it,was my first attempt at topping an auto as that was always a big NONO back several years ago when auto's were pretty shitty yielders its amazing how far they have come along.
I find running auto's during the winter is the way to go,I have some summer projects planned this year with photo's but that all depends on how this covid crap pans out and if I get to come back to Scotland for a wee holiday this summer,if there is no holiday I get to do all my projects and blow the holiday cash on new windows lol.

Under a 150w board, lights 24/0 I got 4.3 oz from a fastbuds purple lemonade. Bit of topping and lst, and it was took about 9 wks, so could maaaaaaybe have pulled 5 oz if I'd left it for 2 more wks, dunno.
