Default Setting up grow in new house need help with lot space

Hi guys this will be my 4th grow last one was 2014 so hey am back! The thing is that my loft has braces every half meter, and at a height of 1.5 meter not idea for me, so my question has anyone removed braces in a loft before? My thinking is if I remove one at a time and cut and fit them higher up in the lost space I shouldn't have 2 much of a problem? Any advice is appreciated.

Welcome back thewhitereefer, as said above, definitely check with a pro before making any cuts that might end up costing you a fortune or even worse a safety hazard to you and yours.

Ok so here's the thing, they are just roof braces, theres lots of the what they do is stop the roof spreading so my thinking is and I'm no expert but... if I move one at a time and I only need to move 3 of them up to 70cm higher they will still be able to take the load as before and the additional braces should be able to take the extra strain, if I dont hear from anyone who has more knowledge of this by tomorrow I'm going to have a go at moving one of them, I mean what's the worst that can happen ??????

A triangle is one of the strongest shapes you can have in construction, so they not only keep the roof from spreading out they do add some strength as far as the long part of your rafter goes.

If it was me I would sister an extra piece of dimensional lumber along each upright that I raise the horizontal piece up on. I might also use some framing anchors on the ends of the horizontal piece to add some extra strength. If you did that I think you would be safe.

Or here's an easyer idea maybe I buy 2mt high tent and cut the poles? Ok the ten maybe baggy at the bottom but could this be dealt with it would 100% be a lot less hassle than having to move the braces and could keep the height of my crop down using manipulation and sog screen, thought are appropriated as I'm at planning stage..

I have and for the height need because of 50cm space between the braces ( its gutting cause this is the perfect loft it's like sectioned with brick walls the grow will be totally out of sight with out having to really go deep in the space) my max height is 1.5mt....

If you're willing to do that then just frame up a little grow room and line it with panda film.

Panda film I would be worried about smells as I wouldn't be able to zip it closed as funny as that sounds, but you have got me thinking self build now
