the s6 is 402cfm and filter for it would be 450. you guys think this will improve over previous having bigger filter or would the 8" at 60%be a better option?

or just keep the prima klima temp controlled i already have and just upgrade filter to the 450cfm rated one?
Shouldn't the filter capacity be higher than the fans?
The 6" on setting 3 of 8 works great for me in a 4x4x7 tent,if you have the same size tent 8" would be overkill.

its a room. 7ft w x 6.5ft deep x 8 foot high. been using this same fan filter for 8yrs+ but it was in a 2.4x1.2 tent before.

it could be cos its old but i feel like i could do with a bit more power and the s6 is a little bit less. a s8 on min 60% sound more like what im after. then it can kick in higher if needed.

saying that, i am upgrading the LED panel and that should help with summer temps.

would you guys run the s6 at 100% or the s8 at 60-70%?

The 8 inch will pull 807cfm

Your room is 364 cubic feet (call it 500 with a filter attached)

the s6 would struggle I reckon and be running full bore at 32db.

The s8 at full bore is 39db so slightly louder but keeping it at 60% will obviously hush her up

The s10 is an option at 1200cfm but its noise jumps significantly to 48db, on par with most 6inch rvks at full chat. But again it will never run flat out so will be quieter.
Not sure the UK availability on the 10 and its quite a price hike based on USD

My rec would be the s8 for you Kro, best vfm and plenty of scope for fluctuations in summer

Oh and fan speed should never exceed the filters rating when in use. If its over then you need to run it slower or the odour doesn't spend long enough time in contact with the carbon to scrub it effectively.

The filters cfm is the maximum speed you can pull air thru and work efficiently, fan speeds below that are fine (within reason**) as it takes longer for the air to pass thru the carbon giving plenty of time to scrub odours. Its just not doing so at peak efficiency (do stoners do any thing to peak efficiency? )

** The caveat to that is you still need to be fast enough to break the resistance the carbon has on the airflow and push it out thru the filter.

    thanks mac. much appreciated.

current setup was perfect in the 2.4x1.2. makes sense the extra space all round of the room would need more.
ill be going for the 8inch with the 67 controller.

current one will go into storage but carbon filter will probs get binned.

i can see my self probably using it at a max of 70-80%. would this filter do.. 200 x 600 1125m3/hr?

That or the 200 x 600 900m3/hr to save a few quid, either would be fine I reckon fella
