Default Lucy cat radiation iodine treatment updates

    Hi all,
Lucy was dx with hyperthyroidism a few weeks ago and went into the vet hospital 2 days ago for radiation iodine treatment which entails her having to be isolated in a lead lined cage for 3-5 days until the radiation levels are deemed safe for her to come home.

I've been stressed to the max about this with communication from the vets being poor and untimely and one way. Not able to answer my questions or fobbing me off anyway, after yesterday's melt down I have heard today from the vet nurse via text that Lucy is doing well, is eating, bright and happy (I doubt that) and overall doing well.

I think they check her radiation levels tomorrow to see if she is in the safe range, I hope so!

Thank you to all who are thinking of Lucy and cheering her on. Much appreciated

I'm glad to hear that Lucy is doing fine, I can fully understand the anguish you've felt by lack of communication!

They should really know better!..shame on them.

BUT the most important thing is Lucy is doing well, she deserves some extra treats when she gets back home..and maybe some catnip, with her mum joining with another special herb we enjoy around here! lol

It's 7pm and 3 days after Lucy went in and again, not heard of her welfare today.

    last text message I sent...
    "hello, how is Lucy today?"

Last email to the head vet and partner of the practice...
    Hi XXXXX,
Again I have not received a message on how Lucy is going.
I phoned about 5:45pm and spoke with XXXXX who went and checked and said someone would sms me back as they had not at that time gone in to check on her or scan her radiation levels I believe.
Can I take Lucy home tomorrow?
Is she still good and getting enough food and going to toilet etc?
I'm concerned with her there and me not receiving updates or information on her welfare.
    Thank you
    XXXXXX
