Lucy is a bit better this morning than when I got her home yesterday.

She was limping on her front leg and very wobbly and I had to support her to stand. I then thought it was a blood clot and still think that is possible and something to monitor.

The vets don't reply to my requests for history or clinical notes of her stay.
They didn't use the worn t shirt with my scent I put in for Lucy to go with her bedding.

They said there was no left over wet food when I had prepared 16 pouches of wet food for her that were to be kept in the freezer and asked them to defrost to body temp in hot water and to make sure she didn't run out of wet food.

Of major concern and what tipped me over the edge other day was when I found out they did no monitoring at all. No window or video to look into the isolation room. They only went in once a day to change litter and feed Lucy.

I suspect they didn't give Lucy her special food I made for her and there was no continuity of information passed on from one nurse to the next.
It was evident from the way they couldn't even give daily updates to me despite them asking how many I wanted and signing off on it.

They are a disgrace and am thinking of reporting them to the Vet association here but as I am also fighting a med neg claim atm against bad dentist (I'm always fighting something it seems!) I don't think I would cope.

Lucy has been traumatised by the experience and she sticks close to me, bed, lounge, lap....no way I can not embrace her and comfort her after her ordeal so the rules for the next 2 weeks are out the window except for the litter.

I'm supposed not to allow Lucy on the bed, or on my lap, only pat for 15 mins a day for next 2 weeks and dispose of used litter into a sealed container and keep for 2 weeks til radiation levels are safe to throw out.

Anyway, thanks for being here all and sorry for bending your ear with my outrage.

Thanks Mac, I was referred to that vet hospital by my usual vet as that was the only practice here that did the radiation iodine treatment.

Still waiting for Lucy to recover, can't say she is well yet and I need to watch out for renal issues that are often unmasked following this treatment and hypOthyroidism...ffs... I hate vets as much as I hate human drs, particularly so called specialists!

I've had a chronic kidney disease cat in the past and needed to give her subq fluids twice a day for 2 years to keep her going and quality of life and no way will Lucy allow me to do that if she ends up with CKD...many things to watch out for and monitor.

Well, I'm on a rant again obviously talking about this. Time for another blood pressure pill!

Many thanks again Mac and appreciate your encouragement

Bloody hell, that's just terrible Petal..well if you can't pursue it (understandably so) then make sure to leave your honest review of your experience as it may help others with their choices..even if it means doing it under a name they won't know.

I fully understand how special our little fur babies are to us..they are family, and their well being impacts us in the same way any other family members would.

I'm happy Lucy is on the mend, she looks tired but I see strength in her.

Keep strong and positive Petal, you're a strong lady!

So glad she is back home. I would not be impressed if that was the attitude I got, but so glad she is back by your side again.

Thanks very much Ice, your empathy is very much appreciated.
Yes she is a very strong little girl thankfully and she is recovering well.
She is eating well and did a good poo yesterday...I took a pic if you want to see and she is walking better although muscle spasms/cramps are bad at times - I need to increase her potassium supplement for a bit.
I'll likely do a formal complaint at some time in the future after I deal with the dental problem.
    Thanks again Ice.

Great to hear, but I think I'll skip on the poo picture thanks! LOL

Yeah...I'd put up an honest review for them too later on in a month or so, under a different name once some time has passed, to let others know, but nothing they can link back to you..in case you ever need to send her there again (in an emergency).

I must remember not all people take such a keen interest in the quantity nor quality of Lucy's poos! lol
Good idea to do reviews in fake name although I bet what I have to say will ring bells with them who it is lolol

    Cheers, thanks George
She is coming along well thankfully.
Blood tests over next few months will show how well the treatment worked along with other signs and symptoms to look out for.
Talking about liquor, I need to restock!
