Used grow equipment

Would you buy used grow equipement?

I'm thinking of getting a high end fan used. Are there any sites where I can look besides Ebay and Gumtree.

Depends on the price bud,you have no idea how much that fan has been used,has it been running full pelt or 1/2 speed,1/4 speed,etc..
The likes of trays etc I would have no problem buying used though.

I'd buy new personally.

I don't tend to look at things with a monetary value, convert it into oz's. If a new fan is going cost you say 80 quid that's 1/2 and oz in my world. Which you'll easily have gained come chop day

That's just how my brain works but then I aren't on a budget

A mate has bought used gear from his local grow shop. Phone around and ask.

I'd be ok with a used rvk but there's lots of cheaper fans no longer wanted because they're crap. Used resin sealed mechanical hps ballasts will probably still be working in 10 years time. Used 315w cmh lights can be a real bargain now that led is popular.

Think thats the main site gumtree for 2nd hand stuff. Prob try faceboke market place aswell.
I bought my auqa farm of there but replaced the air pump. I'd personally steer clear from anything that gets daily use like fans and filters etc or indeed anything electrical but that's just me mate

Buying a used fan/ filter is like buying a used graphics card. You really don't know the damage done till you get it. Best buy new in that regard unless you know the seller.

Pots, trays, piping. Air pumps etc I would but fans or led lighting would be a nah from me.

I know someone who works for those, they jack the prices with false bids. Same at actual auctions.
