Default Would you turn Extraction on straight away??

Hi, growing in a shed, in the uk.
Well insulated will have no problems with cold

Planting the seeds once the tap roots come through, be sometime this week, would you put the extraction fan and carbon filter on straight away? With a fan ? Or not yet?
    Cheers guys

I personally do, it saves me faffin about with having to fit the filter in after, so I just whack it all on at once, no harm in doing it either way to be honest..totally your choice

Some don't to save on the old leccy.

Well, you'll need the air exchange anyway, so you could lower the extraction right down for the first few weeks if you have the option, and not fit the filter in until she starts to whiff..you'll know when to add the filter! lol..but most times it's around the time she starts throwing her pistils out, depending on the strain, they can whiff a lot more before and obviously after that.

As I say, can be a bit of a pain doing it after with the filter..

It is a lot easier to put the filter up the same time.
It's a pita to have to take the plants out or work
around them later. Also a good chance of breaking
    a plant doing it later.

the extraction fan pulls air thru the room which is vital, its not just there for smell. I run mine from day 1

NO SELL, NO SMELL, NO TELL!!!

Having the filter fitted from day one will cost a bit more money long term. A 3 year filter could last 6+ years if only used for the extra smelly part of the grow. Up to you if the savings are worth the extra hassle.

If using a tent. I'd hang the fan and filter using rope ratchets. The filter positioned so that it only needs taping to the fan. Another rope ratchet would pull it out of the way and the grow starts without a filter. When the time comes, move enough plants out of the tent to give you easy access, release the rope ratchet, the filter swings into place and is taped up.
