    Lightbulb cheap vegging light

i am going to build a small vegging chamber, primarily to speed up turnarounds by separating my vegging and flowering rooms. my plan is to build a ~100cm wide by ~55cm deep cupboard (probably around 100-120cm high, but will figure that out when i know what light i am getting).
it has crossed my mind that i might also use the room for keeping a mother plant later down the line, but that is not my primary concern at the moment.

so i am looking for a cheap vegging light, preferably LED. my budget is very low but i obviously need it to work
could somebody also confirm i am correct as far as requirements go please? my understanding is i need:
    *wavelength = 400-500nm
*kelvin = 4000k or 3500k (can also use above 4000k)
    *lux = 15k-70k range

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    thank you

    edit:
should have added that i will not be using all that footprint (100x55cm) for plants. i will use only about 70-80cm of width for growing about 4-6 clones with the intention of only keeping 2 to move up to flowering.
    thanks

Led are expensive compared to CFL ect, but they're cheaper to run, and they last longer. So it's entirely upto you which way you want to go with this? A couple of 125watt blue CFL will do you. Or a 150watt led panel. Maybe a mars ts-1000 or something?

I personally would suggest a T5. I know it's not a led like ya want but they work great
for veg and keeping mothers and for rooting clones. Just my 2 cents.

thank you all for the replies.
my budget is as cheap as it can get but i was hoping to get away with something for maybe £50-£75 if that even exists? and yes, i am in UK.
i know that LED is more expensive, but i want to keep electricity use and, more importantly, heat down. last summer i had major heat problems. unless there is no other option within my budget then i would like to stick with LED.

i was looking at a mars TS600 but i was hoping i would be able to find a cheaper option. maybe thats as cheap as a reliable option will get?

just had a look at T5s and they seem to run relatively cool and use a relatively low amount of power. i am very new to growing and have only had a small amount of experience with grow lights so i am definitely open for changing my mind about LEDs if i can save a worthy amount of money, i can always upgrade later. maybe T5 is a better option after all.

am i correct with my list of requirements? if so i think i might be able to build my own cheaper option by going to places that do not sell the lamps as "grow lights".

thank you all for the help <3

You could buy a really cheap LED panel seeing as you have a small space and it's not for flowering you don't need to get into QB's etc.. maybe a cheapy on amazon would do?
I'm considering doing the same so I can keep a mother plant going, got a nice bit of space in my growroom that I can box off just for this and I'm not gonna spend a lot for a light just to keep a plant in a slow veg state.

IMHO, find a different manufacturer than Mars...!

Our new Q2 LED grow light is available in 4000k and two of them would cover your 80x55cm very well.
We offer 10% THCtalk discount to all members, but priced at £55 each, they might still be a bit outside your price range.
While there is some difference between 3500k and 4000k, it won't have a large impact on the results and if you're not dead set on 4000k, we sell two 3500k slightly cheaper as that variation is available in 2-pack.

this actually might be perfect for my needs. i might actually get away with using one for now and buy another one in a couple of weeks.
is there a way to buy outside of amazon though? i boycotted them a long time ago. if so this light is high on my list.
i saw a lot of love for T5s on the chat as well as here, so they are also at the top of my list right now.
does the £55 include a ballast? so it is ready to plug in and turn on?

thank you everybody for the replies

Yes, the Q2 is a complete plug and play product.
It is an E27 lamp that comes with a lamp holder and 2m (6.5ft) power cord. There's also a rope ratchet to hang it from and easily adjust the height.

All of our lamps are currently stored at and sold via Amazon, but we can handle the payment via Paypal instead and send you a lamp manually from Amazon if you prefer.
