Default Connect fan onto carbon filter?

    Hi everyone

Just a quick question is it better to connect your extraction fan strains onto the cf or have a bit of ducting between them?

New to growing and just want to make sure I have set it up correctly.

Many thanks and sorry if this seems like a stupid question.

If you want to connect directly, use a 'fast clamps' (Ebay item 262883393735 as an example)

Thank you M_C, sorry if I wasted your time, yes I have seen those clamps I'm thinking of picking a couple up.

I guess I was trying to ask does it filter the air better? I have three ladies on the go and when I go into my back room I sometimes get a whiff of green and I'm panicking encase I haven't mounted my cf correctly. It currently has about 6 inch of ducting between the fan and the filter

Using ducting (as you have) is fine mate, just make sure you have a leak proof connection

And no pin holes in the ducting. Quite hard to check but the cause of premature replacement of far too many filters.

Thank you mate I was actually going to take it apart again and mount the fan to the filter.

Is it normal to still get a bit of smell?

    No.

If it's exhausting at the proper rate and the filter is good it should be 100%

    sent from space

In case you haven't done this already, it is best to have the fan sucking air
through the filter rather then blowing it through.

    Hi sourshoes

Yes it's exhausting OK and the air comes out is clean as a whistle. Just sometimes you walk into the room you get a hint of weed. Once you shut the door etc you wouldn't know I had a grow anywhere in the house.

I also have negative pressure, when I shut the tent up after feeding etc you see the front doors and side panels suck in

I just had a look at my setup and I think I may have made a f##k up I have attached my ducting to the filter, fan etc but I didn't wrap duct tape around it before putting the jubilee clips on.

Could that be the cause of the slight leak?
