Well, there's another story... I can't seem to get it apart either... I'd love to replace the washer - I'd love to know how it was done in the first place! Like I said to the wife, if I could understand how it had been assembled, I'd be able to fix it easier

The black pipe the waste attaches to, takes a sharp 90 degree bend & goes through the wall... it's all tight as.... and the above is the only non solvent joint

Can you loosen the base waste and turn that towards you?

I may have to resort to that... but that's then two joints I need to reseal... but it's all tight as! I looked at a Youtube vid of installing them. they reckon it's best to install the trap before fitting the shower tray

I may end up cutting a hole in the kitchen sealing to access things better... the kitchen is well past a refurb & needs the ceiling reboarded anyway

Couple of years ago we spent alot of money doing up our bathroom, tiled in Bath and toilet big fancie radiator with pipes all chased into the walls etc.

Only problem is if anything was to go wrong with my plumbing i would need a plumber that was also a gynecologist!!!

Someone decided little inspection hatches would be fine (me)...

If i was in the same situation as you i would find a small thin bit wood even one of them canes we use for plant support and push against the ribs on the fitting unscrew it a bit get some silicone on the exposed threads then tighten in back up as tight as you can!! It will be an absolute chore but hey it might just work

Plumber here..... Either take up the floor. Or if it's already leaking go thru the kitchen ceiling as you'll have to replace it anyway. Either replace the part. Of if you're a dodgy fucker just go buy a tube of underwater setting sealant.

Could you not break the sealant around the bath top and lift up the bath enough to get your arm/hand under?

    Just chock under the legs?
