    Default DIY Watering Drip System

    Hey everyone,

I'm currently away from my plants during the week, and I can only go back home on sundays, so I can only water them every sunday. They're two plants in the veg state, one is 1 month old, and the other is 2 weeks old.
I was thinking in building a small drip system with 1,5l water bottles, that I only need to fill every sunday, and keeps a constant steady irrigation flow during the week. Would this work better than watering only on sundays?

My plan was to make a small hole in a 1,5 litter water bottle, inserting a 4mm aquarium tube with a flow pressure compensator (regulates how many drips of water come out).
Has anyone done this? Are there any better diy/not expensive options?

I forget the name of the system you're talking about, you stick a little ceramic bulb type thing down into your soil and the water flows through it only when the plant needs it. I think @Mac has started using that system.

OP you can get a hang a bag on wall gravity setup similar to what youve drawn for 10 quid off Amabay. Bluemats are superior though.

Yeah blumat is the name. Gravity fed or line fed with a regulator. Uses a float valve sensor to regulate the dripping based on the moisture level of the soil via ceramic probes in the medium.

Not the cheapest (hard to find in the UK so import is best bet from Austria or spain) but certainly worth every penny imo.

Will def take a look into it. I'll just need the ceramic piece and add that to my "diy system", or do I need to get the full pack?

I grow one or two at a time and my fav bit of kit is an automatic watering system (search Landrip Micro Automatic Drip Irrigation Kit to see the type of thing). One pipe goes to your plants, and another sucks the water from your jug/reservoir. I use a 15 litre jerry can and it lasts a couple weeks during veg and a week in flower
