Default Unanswered: Scissors? Spring loaded non stick blades?

    Alright Gang...

What scissors do you all use for the final chop?

Ive tried a few different types now and im keen on the Fiskers titanium non stick blades as they dont get stuck from resin build up, it just pushes up and off the blade so you can keep trimming without having to stop and clean the blades. Only roll the build up of resin into a ball to smoke later, little Brucie Bonus!
Not having the blade get stuck really helps on the hand as well... but would prefer a spring loaded option ideally, because after several hours graft is gona start hurting, whatever you're using.

Im going to try a pair of those blue chikamasa's for the spring loaded, and want to try a pair of fiskers classics (orange handle) for the finger/thumb comfort as they're shaped nice for the hand.

But what I really want, that i cant seem to find is a pair of scissors that are spring loaded with titanium non stick blades... Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Thanks

I use a small pair of fiskars spring loaded scissors but I don't think they have a titanium end

Chikamasa T552 or the Oksinto Pro H420.

I have both and they are top notch, sharp blades, pointed tip to get deep inside the buds and light spring action to reduce hand ache.

The Chikamasa are usually 10-15 quid

The Oksinto are around 10 quid.

Made from Japanese steel rather than titanium, but no issue with blades gumming up.

NO SELL, NO SMELL, NO TELL!!!

My hand is really hurting today, I think spring loaded every time from now on...

Is there any difference between the chikamasa and Oksinto? Blade length? And both Japanese steel?

    Thanks

I use the same, they work okay. I find I have to replace that spring after a relatively short time. I keep a little box full of miscellaneous springs just for times like that.

Both the same, I bought chikamasa 1st, but knackered the blade cutting some wires with em lol so use those for bigger branches now and the oskinto for fine work, not much real world difference other than the colour of the grips and the price, oksintos spring feels slightly softer but not by much. both brands do the fiskar style hand grips too if you prefer those.

when one gets sticky, use another and scrape later.

Of the non spring loaded scissors, my favourite was a large pair of dressmakers scissors. I shortened the blades with a dremel. Big comfy handles and short blades.

These days, I have multiple spring loaded scissors, nothing expensive. When one gets too sticky, I move onto the next pair.

Ive been looking at the chikamasa site and there are loads to choose from...

The T552 blue looks ok, 48mm blade, but theres a T700 that has a 63mm blade. I like a bigger blade because it helps me get the job done quicker (more surfaced covered). If I really want to manicure the bud then I'll come back later with some curved trimmers.

Ive got my eye on some 25mm fiskers (6" blade) but not spring loaded. The other option I might try is the fiskers easy cut (spring loaded), with just under 4" blade. Only thing with them though is they're material scissors, shape might not be the best for trimming bud.

Why has nobody invented an affordable electric option! Lol

    There is an electric option.

Hang the dried plant on a bungee above the table and use a Dremel and cutting wheel.
