    when was it last recalibrated?

Are you storing it properly? (probe kept wet with KCL solution)

They should be done once a month generally.

Depending on the model will determine which method of calibration is required (screw driver for analogue adjustment or a digital adjustment on teh pen itself), The instructions that came with it should have the info you need.

NO SELL, NO SMELL, NO TELL!!!

I would calibrate first. Screw or buttons. Maybe get some new buffer. I have ruined a grow with a faulty ph pen, cheap as chips it was.

Back when I used a pH meter, I calibrated it to my tap water. Which is a stable pH 7.0. I also stored it in a cup of tap water to stop the probe drying out.
