Help me choose LED LIGHT
Hey team, specific topic for only veg stage what would you recommend?
2x2 tent with only seedling and veg stage plants
HLG 65 V2 4000K (65w) or maybe HLG 100?
or
Spider armer SF1000 (100w)
or
Spider Farmer SF600 (74W)
or
Mars Hydro TS-1000 (150w)
More wattage is better?
They all £60-115 so price suits me but whats the best for veg stage?

HLG 100 would be a good shout, it won't put out much heat tho so may need to supplement heating, something to be aware of for your seedlings.Originally Posted by 420mlet

Hlg 100... They state max veg footprint is 3x3 so you have more than enough for your tent, they use high end samsung chips and there units look very well made.
Ive done the Mars lights i too was fooled by there online stats of wattage etc etc, they use lesser quality chips and there customer service is supposed to be rubbish but I've never kept my Mars lights long enough for them too fail!
I went from 2 Mars sp250's in my flower tent back to hps as the light penitration wasn't getting much past the canopy, when i move back over to led its going to be to a HLG unit.

The Mars lamp is the worst performing lamp on your list, watt for watt.
The HLG lamps are the most efficient lamps on your list, watt for watt.
I'm biased as we produce our own lamps and I'd rather grow with a LEDTonic Q2 than anything else, but if I'd have to choose from your list, I'd pick the SF-1000 as it is dimmable.
It's a shame they generally lie about their PPFD maps and efficacy ratings and that they can't be trusted with the information they publish online (unlike HLG), but the dimming function is nice. Especially if you are planning to use the lamp for early germination and possibly even clones, which requires less intense light.
There is also the viperspectra p1000, p1500 and xs1000 (xs using Samsung diodes) to take into consideration, migro rated the p1000 highly for its build quality and light output and there all dimmable

The HLG 100 would be best imo. Better quality and better customer service.
