48hrs of darkness before chop?

Anyone had any noticeable differences giving plants 48hrs of darkness before chopping them down?

Ive heard its meant to give them one last push to fatten up a bit.

I have tried before but dont remember noticing much, but am considering do it again... but not sure if much point.

Ive also tried trimming about 3mm off the tip of a bud in week 6, which is meant to make it more dense... but didnt notice much tbh.
Ive also tried stem splitting in the final week and leaving a pencil through it, again, not much happening either!!

Anyone had any success?

started of chopping when lights are meant to come on after 12hrs dark. i then tried 48 and 36. now i just do 24hrs after doing a side by side with clones and seeing the results.
one thing is for sure, they were defo more resinous.

on my last harvest the temp in the last 24hr period went down to 16c and made the GSCs that had purple already go much darker.

if you have a separate drying area and run clones you can try it for yourself.

Most people don't notice a difference bit I will say it makes a difference to flavour if you use synthetic nutes or organic... Especially if you don't do a flush... I should imagine this was to ensure the least amount of liquid is in the plant at time of chop so as to reduce humidity/ moisture in buds to speed drying.

I've not done any tests but I know the one time I did HST right at the last week (just before flush) made my amnesia explode with resin but I've not done it since...

I've tried them from a day to 10 days dark and never noticed any difference between day #1 and day #10... Imo bro science lol
