Default Ph changed since I last grew?

    Hi , I'm Chris
I am a musician , and I used to do indoor hydro in the 2000's for a few years .
Had some great success, couple of dropped balls, too.
But I didnt ever have any real issues with Ph .
I had a big bottle of some real strong acid
    they wont sell you anymore
and it worked well and generally stayed . .
i was using channels and nft ,
and if you left it, '
yes, the water go down and ph up , some .
    But not unpredictably

    But this time around ,
I'm just dripping into a home made double pot system . .
even without plants, I cannot get that sucker to stay put
I do now live in a spearpoint/bore water area
so that is hard water , and I dont know if thats it
whats disturbing is how much it climbs back up
on its own , in a few hours ,
    even just in a 20 l container
I can make some nutrient ,
    adjust it to high 5's
and come back , its 7.1
and I could do the same thing over again . .
and come back . . 6.7 or something

this is not something I've ever encountered
    maybe its the plastic
    or the water
but its starting to really annoy me
as I can never really be sure the nutrient is in range ,
outside of a couple of hours of visiting them.
Has anyone else had similar experiences?
I realise the hard water makes it even harder
as not many would do that, i guyess .
    but some must,
and I could use some experienced points of view
if you have anything to offer
    please feel free. . thanks
